The headline purchase price and pitch fee may not show the complete cost of holiday home ownership. What matters is whether material charges were disclosed clearly before commitment and how they are dealt with in the agreement.
Costs owners may encounter
- Utility standing charges or resale of gas and electricity
- Rates, water, drainage and waste charges
- Owner passes and facility charges
- Letting management, cleaning and maintenance deductions
- Insurance requirements and administration fees
- Private-sale or transfer commission
- Disconnection, transport, storage and removal costs
- Finance interest or commission connected with the sale
Finance deserves a separate review
If the park or sales business introduced or arranged finance, retain the credit agreement, pre-contract information and all commission disclosures. Complaints involving regulated finance may follow a different route from a claim against the park seller.
